The Western Brown High School boys and girls cross country teams are the 2025 Southern Buckeye Athletic/Academic Conference American Division cross country champions, winning the league championship meet held at Washington Township Park on Saturday, Oct. 11.

The Western Brown Broncos captured their 13th league title in program history while the Lady Broncos captured their 12th league title…thus making it “25 in 2025,” according to Western Brown High School boys cross country coach, Chad Sexton.

The Lady Broncos were led by the championship meet’s individual race champion, freshman Rian Helton.

Helton posted a 5K time of 20:36.1 in her first place finish.

Rounding out the top seven runners for the Lady Broncos were: Harper Jones (3rd, 21:51.5), Bella Woodyard (9th, 22:38.0), Kendall Hanlon (11th, 23:30.6), Abigail Green (17th, 24:29.0), Ashley O’Hara (25th, 25:43.6), and Annalise Jefferies (29th, 26:47.3).

Helton has been named the SBAAC American Division Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Western Brown’s longtime coach, Jim Neu, has been named the 2025 SBAAC American Division Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year.

Earning SBAAC American Division First Team girls cross country honors this fall were freshman Harper Jones and Helton.

The Broncos were able to put all seven runners in the top 20 in the high school boys’ 5K race and were led by individual race champion, sophomore Landon Hall. Hall posted a time of 16:30.1 in his first place finish.

Hall was followed by teammates Brayden Dill (5th, 17:24.3), Caden Losekamp (9th, 17:51.0), Isaiah Timmers (11th, 18:31.5), Josh Donaldson (12th, 18:31.9), Mason Sanders (14th, 19:05.6), and Samuel Bernhardt (20th, 19:32.3).

This marks the fourth straight year Dill has been named a SBAAC American Division First Team of cross country all-star.
