Twenty years after graduating from Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington High School as a cadet in its Marine Corps JROTC Program, Master Sergeant William Forsee has returned to the school district as the senior Marine JROTC instructor.
After graduating from RULH High School, he served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and recently retired from the Marine Corps. Master Sergeant Forsee attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Park University in Parkville, Missouri.
Master Sergeant Forsee spoke during this year’s Veterans’ Recognition Service at the Brown County Fair on Sept. 28.
“It’s humbling standing up here in front of a large population of veterans from Brown County. It may not feel like it from day to day here, but small town America makes the country run, I promise you that,” said Forsee.
“I will say that the programs, the Army ROTC at Western Brown and the Marine Corps ROTC at Ripley, they helped me get out of this small town, see the world, and be able to come back and share some of my experiences with the youth here, and I look forward to doing that for a really long time,” he added.
