By Martha Jacob

The Village of Ripley in Brown County has been the home of a popular restaurant for over 20 years, called” ‘Rockin’ Robin’s Soda Shoppe” located on Front Street over-looking the Ohio River.

The beautiful 50’s themed restaurant was bought by a new owner, Hope Hughes the first of December, 2018 and will be celebrating a “Re-Grand Opening on Saturday, February 9 to show off all the restaurant’s changes and upgrades.

“When I learned that Rockin’ Robins was up for sale, I jumped on the opportunity, Hughes said. “I actually worked as a server at Rockin’ Robins when I was about 16 years old. I want to carry on the great traditions established at the restaurant and add some new ideas and make a few changes.”

Hughes said she has a great crew of employees who run the restaurant when she can’t be there. Hughes works full time at Brown County Children Services.

Many locals in Ripley enjoy spending time at the well-known restaurant in Ripley, and are quite familiar with staff members which include Alayna Blackburn, Betty Finley (cook), Claire Brookbank, Hannah Washburn, Kasey Kirk, Kylie Carrington, Madelyn Bryant, Miranda Thompson and Devin Shields.

“We are very proud to be able to offer half off to all our police officers, firefighters, EMT’s veterans and nurses. It’s our way of saying thank-you to all these civil servants.”
