Christmas is just around the corner, and events to get you into the holiday spirit have been taking place throughout Brown County.

The village of Georgetown got into the holiday spirit on Dec. 2, a day filled with Christmas events around town.

A Georgetown Christmas Story event was held at the Brown County Fairgrounds in Georgetown during the morning and afternoon of Dec. 2 that included a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves. Free hot dogs, hot chocolate and cookies were available for those in attendance. There were also free crafts for kids.

A craft and vendor show was also held at Rhonemus Hall on the fairgrounds.

The evening capped off with Georgetown’s annual Christmas Parade. Cheerful children danced along the streets as crowds gathered for this year’s Christmas parade through Georgetown, anticipating the arrival of Santa on his sleigh.

Bright parade floats lit up the night as candy flew towards smiling kids who lined the streets of Georgetown, a perfect ending to a festive day filled with Christmas events.

The Dec. 2 Christmas events were sponsored by Georgetown Fire and EMS.
