Daniel Whitacre, 83, died July 26, 2019 at home on Gargonia Road. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, son Michael Whitacre and wife Betty Whitacre.

He leaves behind his children, Jerry, Jamie, Randi, Annette and Britt; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his friends at the local McDonalds.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He went on to work at Diamond International, Riverdowns and later retired from Fujitec.

He was always joking, smiling and giving someone a hard time. He was a coin collecting, horse loving, bib-wearing ornery old man who loved to attend the sporting events of his children and grandchildren, birthday parties and the holidays, mainly for the pies.

A memorial service was held August 17 at the Pike Township Building on S.R. 774 in Bethel.
