A Georgetown man will spend 30 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of child rape.

Eric Hines entered the guilty plea in Brown County Common Pleas Court on March 7.

Judge Scott Gusweiler sentenced him to 15 years to life on each count and ordered that the sentences be served consecutively. Hines will be 73 years old before being eligible for parole.

Gusweiler also ordered that Hines be classified as a Tier 3 Sex Offender, which requires him to register for life once he is released from prison.

Hines was originally indicted on November 11 and charged with 20 sex offenses involving two victims.

The charges included 14 counts of first-degree felony Rape, four counts of third-degree felony Sexual Battery and two counts of fourth-degree felony Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor.

In exchange for the guilty plea, 18 of the charges were dismissed. Hines pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree felony rape for each victim.
