Ripley festival raffle to give lawn mower away

By Martha B. Jacob –

In its continuing efforts to raise funds for the Ohio Rural Heritage Festival Association, a very special raffle will be held at 9 p.m. the last night of this year’s festival, Sept. 3. Raffle tickets are currently being sold and will continue to be available for purchase right up to the drawing. Tickets will be sold during the festival and may also be purchased at the Ripley Builders Supply.
The first place  in the drawing will win a new John Deere D110 riding lawn mower or $1000 cash.
“Not everyone might    be interested in the John Deere mower,” Nelson Otto, member of the association and owner/operator of Ripley Builders Supply said, “But everyone can always use a thousand dollars.  The second prize winner will take home a Winchester 18 Gun Safe, or $200, and the third prize is a John Deere Tricycle or $50. These are great prizes, and we anticipate selling lots of tickets.
“We’re very excited about this raffle, and we’ve made the tickets affordable. They are only $1 or 6 for $5. The winner doesn’t have to be present to win, we’ll be giving them a call.”
Otto explained that he is hoping to use some of the funds for educational purposes, for area youth. Jo Ann Morgan-Otto is president of the Ohio Rural Heritage Festival Association and will be selling raffle tickets at a booth during the festival.
