‘Free Yard Sale’ will be offered at Ripley Assembly of God

By Martha Jacob –
The congregation of the Ripley Assembly of God church will be holding a very special event to help residents of the village of Ripley and the surrounding area, according to Barry Frances, who preaches at the church.
“On Saturday, August 13, our congregation will hold a Yard Sale,” Frances said. “But this won’t be your regular yard sale. Everything at this yard sale has been donated to the church and everything will be given away free to anyone who stops by.
“This free yard sale will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. And we will be giving things away that entire time.”
Frances said his congregation has been looking for a way to give back to the community and this free yard sale seemed like the perfect way. The yard sale will be available for all Ripley residents and the local area.
“Our church is located across from the Dairy Yum Yum Restaurant at 1104 South 2nd Street in Ripley,” Frances added. “We want to extend an invitation to everyone to stop by and see if we have anything you might need.”
Frances said that on Saturday, August 20 the Assembly of God Church will also be holding a “Back Yard Christian Concert” which will begin at 7 p.m at the church.
Music will be provided by the “Worship Team” from Bethel. The concert is free to the public, and everyone is welcome.
