Dear Editor,
I am a concerned resident and voter of Brown County. I recently read two editorials from citizens of our County that refer to the candidates for Sheriff here in our County as good hard working people that have the best interest of the community at heart. I could not agree more about all of the candidates but I do sincerely believe we have a tremendous opportunity to make a huge difference for our families, friends and neighbors and especially our children here in the county.
The current status of our county is a high crime rate, shelves full of unsolved crimes, rampant drug activity and an outdated overcrowded jail that we cannot lock the doors of or house prisoners. We spend thousands of our hard earned dollars every week to house and transport prisoners to and from another county due to our lack of foresight and planning. Be assured if we settle for the status quo we can expect more of what we have and nothing more. The residents of the county deserve better and each of us have a chance to do our part to make it so.
We have a candidate who affords us the opportunity to have a police force second to none that would be the envy of every county in the state. This candidate has the education, the experience and the proven track record in large metropolitan areas as a Police Chief. He has gained his crime solving expertise in FBI school. We in Brown County have never been afforded such a chance to make our community safer for our children to grow up in. The candidate I am referring to is Gordon Ellis. He is the most qualified candidate. He has made no inside deals or promises to anyone, only promising the people of the Brown County a Sheriff’s office that serves the people first.
Gordon Ellis is a local resident, devoted husband and father, a patriot with distinguished service who loves this community and is willing to use his knowledge and ability to turn this county around. Do not pass up this chance to vote for what is best for Brown County, Vote for Gordon Ellis.
