Sheriffs Department receives K9

Carl Smith, Chief Deputy Brown County Sheriff’s Office, is announcing the department’s newest deputy, Deputy Black. Black is a two-year-old German Shepherd that was imported from Holland. Black with his partner, Sgt. Dave Johnson, will be used in the intervention of drugs and tracking suspects in burglaries and other offenses. Black will be a valuable asset to the sheriff’s office and to the citizens of Brown County in the battle against the growing drug problem.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office appreciates those businesses and individuals for helping to make the K9 program possible: Union County Sheriff’s Office for donating the K9 car; George Duncan Auto Body for parts and repairs; Ripley Metal for powder coating; Big Boys Toys for K9 car accessories; Clermont County Sheriff’s Office for the light bar; Pro Tint for window tint; Rick and Cathy Wheat, Ben Crowe, Bowie Tire, Home Place, and AutoZone, all for monetary donations; Ohio State Patrol for a radar unit.
