First State Banking Center in Ripley annually donates to a senior in the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington School District for the Self-Reliant Award. The Ripley Alumni Association has chosen Jordan Carpenter to receive the Self-Reliant Award for the graduating year of 2015.
The award has been around since the late 1960s and the Ripley Banking Center has been a proud donor of the award, stated a spokesperson.
Carpenter was an outstanding, self-motivated and self-reliant senior at RULH, the spokesperson stated.
In addition to the banking center in Ripley, there are nine other First State Bank locations: Georgetown, Hillsboro, Manchester, Mt. Orab, Peebles, Seaman, Washington Court House, West Union and Winchester.
