In January of 2016, Jeanne Grant, a Ripley resident and artist, started hosting a group of people who wanted to explore art. This was not expected to last more than a month or two. This group still meets weekly to share what they are working on and to continue to receive guidance and encouragement from Jeanne as they explore their talents in watercolor, pencil, acrylic and oil.
The artists are ready to show the world what they have been creating with an opening reception on Friday April 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The artists will provide refreshments for the reception. The show will continue Saturday April 8  from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday April 9 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The artists include:
• Nancy Ellis
• Ruth Dunn
• Robin Gilbert
• Sara Goldsberry
• Jeanne Grant
• Linda Gray
• Sarah Orlando
• Ron Ralston
• Jane Zachman
The artists selected a piece by Linda Gray, a Ripley resident to be the featured piece for this show.  The piece is titled Paddy O’Pig.
The Ripley Painters Spring Show will be held at the Annex next to the library. This is a large facility with plenty of room to enjoy what each artist has created and mingle with friends and the artists. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.
The Ripley Library is located on the corner of US 52 and Main Street in downtown Ripley.  The Annex is located next door to the library on Main Street.
