According to Ripley resident Cecil Black, on March 24, the male Bald Eagle that Ripley area residents are so used to seeing, referred to as the Brown County Rural Water eagles, was found dead by the side of the road. The Ohio Division of Wildlife sent an officer to pick up the eagle. They will use the feathers from the male eagle to make an Indian head dress. The female had already taken a new mate before sunset and as the photo shows, life goes on. Black said she had her choice of two possible males who were anxious to move in.
