SBAAC awards boys basketball all-stars

A long-time tradition carried on at Hamersville School on March 7, as the Southern Buckeye Athletic/Academic Conference hosted its annual Winter Sports Awards Dinner and Banquet with awards being handed out to SBAAC First Team all-stars, Coaches of the Year, Players of the Year, and league champion teams.
In high school boys basketball, the Amelia Barons and the Goshen Warriors finished the 2016-17 regular season as SBAAC American Division co-champions with 9-1 league records.
Amelia senior Ryan Turner took home the award for SBAAC American Division Basketball Player of the Year.
Taking home SBAAC American Division Co-Coaches of the Year awards were Amelia’s Craig Mazzaro and Goshen’s Scott Wake.
Receiving SBAAC American Division First Team awards during Tuesday’s banquet were: Clayton Wolfe (Western Brown), Lonzo Clark (Norwood), Gage Kramer (New Richmond), Ryan Wake (Goshen), Tony Moore (Goshen), Brandon Cox (Goshen), Collin Sammons (Batavia), Logan Richardson (Batavia), Ryan Turner (Amelia), Tyler Stewart (Amelia), and Cage Meyer (Amelia).

In the SBAAC National Division, the Bethel-Tate Tigers and the Williamsburg Wildcats finished as league co-champions with 9-1 records.
Bethel-Tate senior Trenton Weeks took home the SBAAC National Division Player of the Year award.
Receiving SBAAC National Division Co-Coaches of the Year awards were Bethel-Tate’s Tom Jutze and Williamsburg’s Dan McKibben.
