On Monday August 8 at 6:30 p.m. the Aberdeen Library (in the meeting room) will host a program on Monarchs. The program will repeat on Thursday August 11th at 6:30 p.m. in the Russellville Library. This is a free and family friendly program and everyone is welcome to attend.
Learn about the Monarch’s decline and how you can help save this beautiful iconic butterfly. From the Monarch’s migration to planning your own butterfly garden, this presentation provides tips and resources to get you started.
Denise Bollinger, co-owner of Creek’s Edge Farm Retreat in SW Brown County, raises Monarch butterflies. Her organic, native pollinator gardens attract bees, birds, bats and many species of butterflies throughout the season.
Each summer Denise and her husband Skip raise hundreds of Monarchs simply to increase their chance of survival. Every Monarch is released to continue their important migration. Nature permitting, Denise will bring Monarch Butterflies in various stages of development.
