Williams Memorial Scholarship awarded

The Scholarship Committee for the Ravye Williams Memorial Scholarship is pleased to announce that Kristen Abbott and Charles Love, of Ripley Union Lewis Huntington High School, are the two recipients of the 2015-2016 scholarship awards.
Kristen, the daughter of Mike and Sonya Abbott, will be attending Urbana University and majoring in Criminal Justice.  Kristen has been active in National Honor Society, Student Council, Deca, Spanish Club, Leo Club, and has played soccer, basketball, cross country, track, volleyball and softball during her high school years. She has also participated in many community and civic activities including the Brown County Animal Shelter, Pennies-4-Patients, and was a volunteer at Niya Royal’s Girls Basketball Camp.  Kristen was also highly involved in the “Friends of Kilee” community service project.   In addition to these, she works at the Yum Yum Restaurant.
Charles is the son of James and Lisa Love and will be attending Shawnee State University majoring in Business Management.  Charles has also been quite active in school, civic and community activities.  He has participated in baseball and track.   Charles has  been a member of the Student Council, Class VP, Color Guard, Drill Team, and FCCLA.  As a member of the MCJROTC, Charles received numerous awards and medals.
Both of these recipients exemplify the qualifications set forth to be a recipient of the Ravye Williams Memorial Scholarships.
