Steddom Law Office has moved from Ripley to Georgetown. Attorney Julie Steddom had established her law office in 2008 in Ripley after two years as a Brown County Assistant Prosecutor.
“I love the people in Ripley, and I live close by, but now it makes more sense for my business to be nearer the court houses,” Steddom said. The move was official Jan. 4.
Last November Steddom contracted with Dora Lands to rent the building at 111 West Cherry Street in Georgetown. The building was constructed by the late Dr. Donohoo in the 1960’s and he practiced there for years. “The building’s location was perfect, being within sight of the Common Pleas Court House, but it was obviously designed for a medical practice, with many small exam rooms,” said Steddom. “Mrs. Lands arranged for extensive renovations to the interior of the building so that it would meet my needs: walls were knocked out and new ones built, carpet was laid, and fixtures were updated.” Steddom then worked evenings and weekends through December painting and wallpapering.
“I’m very happy with how it all came together. It feels like a new building. A benefit to being close to the courts is that I am able to come back to the office and return phone calls during breaks between hearings,” Steddom said. “Plus we have more space for meeting with clients.”
