Spectators up and down the Ohio River got a special treat on Aug. 29 as this World War II LST ship made its way towards Pittsburgh. This ship, officially known as a Landing Ship Tank, saw action during the D-Day invasion in 1944 and is the last fully functional LST ship in existence. Here, the ship passes by Higginsport and later it was greeted by cheering crowds as it passed by Front Street in Ripley. The LST will be docked for tours from Sept. 12-16 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
