MT. ORAB — A restaurant known for its wood-fired hamburgers and hot dogs is opening a second location in Mt. Orab.

Cowaburger first opened in Hillsboro two years ago, according to Jason Burns, one of the owners. He said the plan has always been to expand to other locations and Mt. Orab was a great fit.

Burns said he and the other two owners, Tim Eaton and Scot Newman, have a heart for small communities and Mt. Orab feels like a hometown.

“I know several people (in Mt. Orab),” Burns said, “We’ve been looking for a while, and we just happened to find the right location.”

Cowaburger also serves fresh-cut, fair-style fries and authentic lemon shakeups.

“The sandwiches are built to order, everything is fresh, not frozen, we make every patty by hand,” Burns said. “That comes across when you eat at our place.”

Burns said the Mt. Orab location will hire approximately 12 people, the same number of employees at Hillsboro.

“We’re just excited to come to Mt. Orab and serve the community for years to come,” he said.

Cowaburger is located at 309 N. High St. and is set to open during the Fourth of July weekend.
