“Although county budgets have been shrinking, the support the community has given our newly established Brown County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force is growing, and it couldn’t have come at a better time” said Brown County Commissioner Barry Woodruff.

Recently, the Task Force received donations of $4,000 from Choice Cigars and Tobacco, $1,000 from Denny and Rebecca Wallace of Wallace Seed and Services on state Route 774, and $100 from John Wood Insurance in Georgetown.

Dwight D. Wilson, owner of Choice Cigars and Tobacco stores located in Brown and Clermont counties, understands that this heroin epidemic will not go away on its own. “I have seen not only what it does to lives of the addicts, but the family, extended families and friends as well,” said Wilson. “I appreciate the dedication by Commander Josh Black and the Task Force and what they are up against to eliminate this problem in our communities. I encourage anyone else that can offer support to do the same.”

“I would like to express our thanks to all who have or are thinking of donating to the Task Force. This is a much needed group to help fight the War on Drugs” said Chief Deputy Carl Smith, Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
